Absolute Demolition
The narrator sees the solution of women being no longer treated as inferior to men in the absolute demolition of prejudices formed and followed over centuries. The first step for this demolition is in comprehension that women should not be divided into classes: mistresses and mothers, as nature has endowed them with abilities for accomplishing both these functions perfectly, it is up to the woman herself. Another illusion which prevents women of being recognized is a thought that physical purity of a woman is a virtue which should be sacrificed when looking for a perfect man, and if a woman gives this “virtue” to a man who later turns out to be a rascal it is her fault. Thus the narrator demands that women should demolish all the illusions, stay brave and prove their faultlessness.
Equality
The main idea of feministic movement is considered in equality between men and women. But the narrator declares that equality should be out of the question, as women and men never were and never will be equal as nature has made them different. They are enemies and there is only one thing where their interests might merge – it is sex. Looking for sexual dependence is a wrong course and women should look into themselves to understand who they are and what they want to be. The idea of searching for a man to become dependent upon should be demolished as well.
Sexual purity
The theme of sexual purity of a woman is deeply looked into by the narrator. She considers it the biggest illusion and prejudice to think that a woman can be thought as a pure one only if she manages to retain her virginity and become an example to follow. This is a first barrier for understanding that women are not interchangeable, that each one is unique one and all, is the main obstacle for a woman to become a woman.
