Raco has concluded that Kim is guilty of desertion. His one-sided view ignores the possibility that Kim may have been kidnapped or undergone something beyond her control. Raco is blaming someone who could be a victim. Raco is employing victim-blaming in his reasoning. His remark portrays Kim as a bad mother even though he has not confirmed that she deliberately left the child and vanished.

Why is Charlie distressed by Kim’s disappearance?
Although they (Charlie and Kim) are ex-lovers, they are parents to Zara. Charlie is restless because "If there was one person likely to attract even more questions than the spouse of a missing person, it had to be the ex-partner." Some may conclude that Charlie had a hand in Kim's disappearance. He could be blamed because they are cases of ex-lovers who avenge once affairs have ended. Falk is from a very religious background, but he is not that religious. Therefore, religious views would not interfere with his role as a godparent. Rita recognizes, “His parents and grandparents were quite religious. He might have lapsed, but you can never totally get rid of it.” Rita believes that Falk being a godparent will be a significant undertaking. They honor him with responsibility because they trust and adore him greatly.
