    Learn about the technology in the novel.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.9-10.2

    Structure:

    Students may be interested to note that while most of the technology in Ender's Game seems fairly commonplace today, the novel was written before the advent of the internet (at least for personal use), iPads, and realistic elaborate video games. Remind students that Ender's Game was published in 1985. As a class, make a list of the 'futuristic' technology in Ender's Game. (For example: the desks, the net, the mind game, Battle School.) What technology now exists, and what is still science fiction?
