    What conclusions does the investigating magistrate come to about the crime? How?

    The magistrate is perplexed by the case in front of him. He can't believe the amount of coincidences that had to occur in order for the Vicario twins to successfully kill Santiago. The magistrate spends time interviewing Pablo, Pedro, Angela, Angela's friends, and numerous townspeople. He concludes that the Vicario twins did not want to kill Santiago.
