What does Bud feel towards Todd as he lies to Mrs. Amos about what happened?
Obviously watching Todd lie makes Buddy angry and resentful, but he also appears to feel a slight sense of admiration towards Todd, as he think he is a good liar and even abides by one of Bud's own rules for living. Students may be intrigued by this combination of emotions—what does it mean that Bud admires a liar? This question should enable students to use context clues to figure out implied and explicit information.
