Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific undergraduate College or School (including preferred admission and dual degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests?


It is Friday night and I am wondering how Frida Kahlo was associated with Leon Trotsky. Naturally this leads me to Lenin, who led the October Revolution, which brings me to the Russian Empire, which is very overwhelming and full of details about Tsars and Greats. I find a point about Catherine the Great that leads me to wonder who or what a Cossack is, and this ultimately leads me to an article on Nikolai Gogol. I am in awe. My mind is fuzzy. Part of this is because it is the middle of the night, but it is also because I have connected two of my favorite artists through (several) clicks of a mouse. I'm excited and in shock for having drawn a line between two dots I never imagined connected.

I believe that at the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, my obsessive love for internet searches will be cultivated into real research. With the help of brilliant professors and passionate classmates, I will learn to apply the information and force it out of its place in my browser history. Specifically, I hope to trace new lines in the Neuroscience program. My mind has found the mind itself to be incredibly interesting.
