What has changed in Lucy’s attitude toward Miss Lavish?
Miss Lavish was previously described, reverently, as "so original." Lucy thought her a great artist, a real adventurer, a bohemian; now Lucy sees she is a hack, a trite writer, someone who is snobbish toward tourists who have their noses stuck in their guidebooks but who gets lost without hers, and that she is critical of the Emersons because they are true bohemians, a descriptor she knows she cannot rightfully own. Lucy once saw her as someone to aspire to be, but now she realizes she is as conservative and snobbish as the people back home.
