How does Feyre pay the price for killing a wolf in the forest?
Feyre is innocent while in the forest, and hunting is the only way to survive. One day, while hunting, she sees a wolf chasing after the deer she is after, and she decides to kill the wolf. However, killing the wolf is the biggest mistake she makes after realizing that it belongs to the faerie kingdom. As a result, a faerie kidnaps Feyre and takes her to the Prythian territory to pay for a crime. The faerie that kidnaps Feyre transforms into a beast, and his name is Tamlin, one of the High Lords in the kingdom. Feyre is forced to work for Tamlin in the Spring Court without compensation.

How does Sarah J. Maas explore the theme of love in A Court of Thorns and Roses?
The author explores the love between Feyre and Tamlin by showing the sacrifices one makes to show affection. Feyre initially fears Tamlin, but she starts to love him. However, Feyre is scared to declare her love for Tamlin, and she waits for him to take his first chance. When Tamlin is arrested, Feyre is commanded to sacrifice her life by completing three trials, which endangers her. Despite knowing that it is hard to come alive from the trials, Feyre accepts and daringly completes all the trials to secure Tamlin's release from prison. Consequently, Feyre shows immense love for Tamlin because she sacrifices her life to set him free.

What is the obstacle in the engagement between Tamlin and Feyre?
Tamlin is a complete beast and a High Lord in Prythian, but Feyre is partly human and partly a Fae (beast). Feyre's human side makes her relationship with Tamlin hectic because she can remember the evils she did while rescuing him. Therefore, despite Feyre having all the powers of the High Fae, she faces obstacles to confessing her love for Tamlin because she feels guilt for her past evil actions.
