Zero Hour! (Film) Irony

Time to Come In

Treleaven is on the ground and is ordering Stryker to stay up in the air in order to complete the flight as safely as possible. Ironically, Stryker disobeys the order as there is no time for a safe landing, he has to bring the plane down now or people will die, including his son.

Too CLose

The airport control team calls in Capt. Treleaven to help Stryker to land the plane by communicating with him from the ground. They two flew together in the war. Ironically, Treleaven doesn't trust Ted and believes he is going to fold under the pressure.

Radio Help

Stryker is asked to help the pilot to use the radio as the co-pilot is incapacitated. Ironically, as soon as Ted arrives in the cockpit he realizes they don't need him to be the radio man, but to pilot the plans as the captain is down as well.

Fighter

Ted was a pilot in World War II; he flew bravely in his missions. Ironically, he can no longer stomach flying, as his final run in the war was a tragic one in which many of his men died and he was nearly killed.

Champagne

Ted has come home with a bottle of champagne to celebrate his new job with his wife, Ellen. Ironically, she has left him with their son Joey as their marriage is failing.
