Although it is one of the least-known books by Dr. Seuss, You're Only Old Once (originally published in 1986) tells an interesting story of an older man who visits the Golden Years Clinic. At the clinic, the man has to deal with incredibly long waits and has to undergo strange medical tests.
Despite the fact that You're Only Old Once isn't widely-known, it received very positive reviews upon its release. Kirkus Reviews, for example, loved the book, writing in their review that "Seuss, with 82 years and 44 books to his credit, is in better than 'pretty good shape'; he's in top form with this book that's sure to delight "obsolete children," and even those of us who are merely obsolescent." Not only that, You're Only Old Once was also very financially successful. In fact, it reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List, a position which it held for over 60 weeks.
