Weapons of Mass Delusion Characters

Weapons of Mass Delusion Character List

Donald Trump

Donald Trump is the bombastic former President of the United States. His administration, Draper explains in his book, was rife with scandal and corruption. Draper shows how poor of a President Trump was.

More significantly, though, Draper shows how Donald Trump was complicit in the perversion and delusion of the Republican Party. This delusion led to the January 6th incursion into the U.S. Capitol by followers of Trump, who encouraged them to enter the capitol and wreak havoc. Like Trump, those who entered the Capitol that day believed that Trump rightfully won the 2020 Presidential Election and they wanted to prove it.

Marjorie Taylor Greene

Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of the U.S. House Representatives from the State of Georgia. Draper argues that Greene was complicit, along with Trump, in the perversion of the Republican party. Instead of keeping the American people and the Republican party more specifically more united and happy, Greene was more interested in advancing herself in politics and on the national media scene. Her brand of politics, which values hysteria over calmness and truth and fact, is what largely contributed to the January 6th invasion and the perversion of the Republican party (and those who believe in far-right type conspiracy theories).

Lauren Boebert

Lauren Boebert is a lot like Marjorie Taylor Greene. A member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the State of Colorado, Boebert is more interested in advancing herself and her own brand of politics than keeping the country sane and not hysterical. She shares Greene's interest in keeping members of the Republican party angry and hysterical instead of being calm and reasonable and not violent. It was Boebert, Draper exposes, that shared to the world where Nancy Pelosi was on January 6th, endangering the Speaker of the House's life and the institution of the American Republic itself.

George Soros

George Soros is the boogeyman of the American far right Republicans. A Jewish man, Holocaust survivor, and philanthropist, Soros has historically taken an interest in causes across American politics. According to Draper, his motivations are mostly positive and pure. But those on the American far right think that he is the puppet master for the world who is interested above all in controlling the wheels of American Republic and the politicians who help that machine run.
