Wayside School is Falling Down is composed of thirty separate but interconnected stories that involve the kids in the eponymous Wayside School.
"A Package for Mrs. Jewls" follows Louis the yard teacher, who is tasked with cleaning the paper and pencils that have littered the playground. After finishing cleaning the playground, Louis brings an incredibly heavy package to Mrs. Jewls' classroom on the thirtieth floor. Mrs. Jewls opens the package, and discovers a computer inside. She promptly takes the computer out of the package, opens a window, and drops the computer out of the window as a way to teach her class about gravity.
"Bebe's Baby Brother" follows a young girl called Bebe Gunn, who Mrs. Jewls confronts about a rather unsavory message about Mrs. Jewls that was written on her homework. Bebe Gunn confesses that the nasty notes were written by her younger sister, who intended on playing a trick on Mrs. Jewls and Bebe. In turn, Mrs. Jewls gives Bebe a piece of candy and an A+ to make up for the trick.
"Calvin's Big Decision" follows Calvin, who is set on getting a tattoo for his birthday. People in his class give him suggestions, but he ultimately decides on getting a potato tattoo on his ankle, much to the chagrin of his classmates. Although he gets teased by his classmates, Calvin feels that this was the right decision because he is happy with the tattoo he got.
