Red Dress
Nikki says that the world needs to be less stimulated by the images of violence and sexuality that are put on TV. Ironically, she admits that she belongs to the group that is overstimulated and we find out that she herself watches Videodrome.
O'Blivion
O'Blivion makes appearances throughout the film, on a talk show and speaking to Max through a tape. Ironically, O'Blivion is dead but somehow managed to create tapes that speak directly to these future situations.
Videodrome
Videodrome is said to be able to create a place for people to live out their extreme violent fantasies in private. Ironically, by watching Videodrome people develop malignant tumors and die as a result.
Producing TV
Max is quick to want to put Videodrome on TV as he believes it is the new wave of television. Ironically, he becomes a puppet for a hidden agenda to kill people and he himself becomes a VCR in which a pulsating videotape is put inside. He then becomes controlled by the very thing he is putting on the TV set for others to watch.
Producing
Max decides to air the Videodrome content and becomes singled out for doing so. Ironically, by airing it Max becomes the puppet of the corporation behind the tape and must hunt down their targets to kill them.
