    Who's Who In Dublin

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Discussion

    Objective:

    Students will begin to fill out a character map to accompany the novel.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.11-12.3

    Structure:

    Although Ulysses is filled with dozens of characters, both major and minor, the novel centers largely around Stephen Dedalus and Leopold Bloom (who we haven't yet met), with these two men acting as our protagonists. We will learn a great deal about the Stephen and Leopold, their families, and their relationships with one another and those around Dublin, and so it will be helpful to have a reference chart to refer back to throughout our study of the novel.
