Pedro
Pedro is a street kid who runs with El Jaibo. He is with Jaibo when Julian is killed by him. After this he attempts to change and gets a job, but Jaibo steals a knife from Pedro's employer and Pedro is blamed for it. His mother sends him away to a reform program. When the director of the program gives Pedro 50 pesos to show him he can be trusted, Jaibo steals it. This leads to a fight with him and later to Pedro trying to kill Jaibo, but instead is killed by Jaibo.
El Jaibo
El Jaibo is a street kid who doesn't know who his parents are nor what his real name is. He escapes a juvenile jail to come back and lead the street kid's gang. He steals from the blind and the weak and uses any means necessary to take what he wants. He kills Julian and demands Pedro say nothing about it or he will go to jail with him. Jaibo sleeps with Pedro's mother, steals a knife from the shop he works at causing Pedro to be sent to a reform program. Later he steals Pedro's money which leads to a fight between them and eventually Jaibo kills Pedro. Jaibo is then shot by police in the street.
Meche
Meche is the sister of one of the street kids who harbors Jaibo, giving him a place to sleep. she appears innocent throughout the film, but with her grandfather dumps Pedro's body down a hill into trash in order that the police don't begin questioning them.
Don Carmelo
Don Carmelo is a blind man who plays music in the street every day to earn money. He is harassed by the street kids and beaten up by Jaibo and Pedro. He appears to be a decent man, taking in a boy called "Eyes" and helping Meche's mother who is always in pain. He then is seen trying to grope Meche, and is the one who tells the police it was Jaibo who killed Julian. He believes all the street kids should be killed before they are born.
Pedro's Mother
Pedro's Mother doesn't want him in the house. She won't feed him since he has decided to run away with the street gang, and finds him untrustworthy. She sleeps with Jaibo, and when the police accuse Pedro of stealing a knife from his work she takes him to a reform school where she learns it was not her son who is the thief but Jaibo. She is seen searching for her son not knowing that he has been killed by Jaibo and his body dumped into a pile of garbage Meche and her grandfather.
