The Sorrows of Satan Metaphors and Similes

The Sorrows of Satan Metaphors and Similes

Original Sin

Tempest is a metaphor for the concept of Original Sin. In the Bible, Eve succumbs to temptation and evil, and this results in her fall from Grace - this experience is similar to that of Tempest's.

Lucio vs Tempest

Lucio is a metaphor for the morally black nature of the wealthy whilst Tempest is a metaphor for that of a true and honest person. Despite his wealth, Lucio's lacks compassion and care for those who are less fortunate than he.

Lucio the Devil

Lucio is a metaphor for evil itself. He appears to Tempest in his most dire time of need and latches on to him in the hopes of corrupting him and turning his soul black.

The Seven Sins

The money that Tempest inherits symbolizes more than wealth - it is a metaphor for the Biblical sin of avarice. Likewise, when he transcends to a more powerful social station, the sins of pride and envy become a norm for Tempest.
