The Prince
The prince is 30 at the start of the journey, but he soon realizes that he cannot return home until his death. Or, if he returns, there will be no place for him. For the prince, this journey must have seemed harmless, but human nature is always craving something that is impossible.
Alessandro
Alessandro was the first to send the prince the day after the trip. He was only able to return on the eighth day. He was followed by other six messengers.
Domenico
Domenico is the last tie the prince has with his homeland. All the other messengers have already gone and probably will not manage to return in time. According to the prince's calculations, if everything goes well and Domenico departs, he is not going to be able to see the prince for thirty-four years. Then the prince would be seventy-two. He never hoped he would reach that age and believed he would be dead by that time. Thus, he would never be able to see him again.
