Students will be able to connect with the theme of guilt in the novel

Structure:

Show students the website http://postsecret.com/.

Ask students if they have ever heard of Postsecret before. Allow students some time to browse through some posts and discuss what themes the secrets have. Relate those themes to emotions the characters of The Poisonwood Bible express.

Pass out large index cards, coloring supplies, and other art supplies, and have students create a postcard from the perspective of one of the characters.
