Terence Hanbury White, who published under the name of T. H. White, was born in British colonial India. He came into this world in Bombay (now Mumbai) on May 29, 1906. His parents' marriage dissolved when Terence was young, and he was sent back to England to live with his grandparents. After leaving his first college, Terence entered Queens College, Cambridge, where he excelled in English literature.
