The Ninth Metal Summary

The Ninth Metal is a fiction novel narrating the supremacy wars on who is best suited to control the precious natural resource Omnimetal in Northfall, Minnesota. Several characters have supernatural powers but only use their influence when necessary. The novel opens by describing an apocalyptic event in Minnesota, which later becomes a precious metal that everyone struggles to control. During the apocalyptic showering event, a molten splash wave is produced, and Hawkin, a young boy, is caught in the incident. Hawkin witnesses the splashing meteor's destructive nature because his father is killed in the process. Hawkin survives, but the molten lava flows deeper into his body, giving him supernatural powers.

Half a decade later, Northfall, Minnesota, becomes a beehive of mining activities. The Omnimetal mineral in Minnesota is a precious and most expensive commodity in the world. Therefore, the commodity attracts many powerful people and companies who want to exert influence. John Frontier, the prodigal son of an influential, wealthy family, returns to Minnesota to have a stake in the promising mining industry. John's family competes with a company called Black Dog Energy which wants to obtain full rights to control the mining of the precious metal. The Black Dog Company is looking forward to gaining full control of the Gunderson Woods area, where most of the Omnimetal deposits are located. The mining deposit has attracted a cult of powerful people who want to optimize the available opportunity to enrich themselves.

John hears that the government agencies have captured Hawkin and are conducting dangerous and exploitative experiments on him. Consequently, John decides to rescue Hawkin from his oppressors. John also realizes that he has secret powers while rescuing Hawkin from oppressors. Dr. Manhattan and the security guard called John are the other characters with powers that can destroy the world. However, these characters use their powers positively instead of destroying the world; they do everything possible to save lives. Generally, the novel is entertaining and enlightening.
