The Power of Stories

Objective:
To observe the power of stories to shape the world in action
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.9-10.6, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.9-10.1.C
Structure:
Each student will find a folktale from somewhere in the world. It should be a folktale that they enjoy or feel moved by in some way. They can look via Google search, or they can find their tale in a book. Students will be given 20 minutes to practice telling their story out loud. Then, the class will split into small groups of about 5 students. Each student will take turns telling their story to their group until each member of each group has told their story....
