Character Tweets

Objective:

Students will be able to analyze characterization through tweeting.

Structure:

In this activity, students will create tweets as a specific character from one of the stories in the “Tales of French Life” section.

To begin this activity, explain to students that social media is a way to express oneself creatively. While Maupassant’s characters did not have Twitter (www.twitter.com), the author has created interesting, dynamic characters that could use Twitter in interesting ways.
