Determining Morals

Individual Writing
Objective:
Students will be able to analyze both morals and themes in Maupassant’s stories.

Structure:
To begin the activity, ask students to define a “moral.” Students may say a moral is an ethical lesson. Explain to students that fables are the kind of story that usually come with a clear moral.
