Students will be able to write critical analysis of the stories throughout the collection.

Structure:

This long-term project is designed for students to practice writing their own analysis of the many Maupassant stories they will encounter over the course of this unit. Begin the activity by asking students: when we analyze literature, what sorts of elements do we look for? Students may list things like: figurative language, themes, motifs, tone, and structure.
