    A Novel Based on Paul Gauguin

    Objective:

    Students will learn about Gauguin and consider how much of Strickland's character was based on his life and they will use technology to make infographics to share this information in an engaging way.

    Structure:

    Break students into pairs for this activity, where they will use the internet to research Paul Gauguin, considering that Strickland's character is loosely based on the famous painter. Who was Gauguin? What style of art did he make? What is he most known for? What are some important biographical facts about him?
