Chapter 1: Lucy Looks Into a Wardrobe
To escape the air raids during World War II, siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent from their home in London to live with an old professor in the English countryside. Peter (the oldest) is sure that they have lucked out and that the professor will let them do whatever they like, but Edmund thinks the professor looks funny, and Lucy is a little afraid of him. Lucy is also a little afraid of the house, which is much larger than she is accustomed to and contains many mysterious rooms and passageways.
