The Lincoln Lawyer Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

The peril of being an investigative officer

The killing of the police officer behind Roulet's case epitomizes the danger of doing the investigative job. Since Roulet's case is sensitive, he uses his operatives to eliminate possible witnesses and any police officer who tries to investigate his case. Mick is framed as the killer in the murder because his gun is used in the shooting incident.

The symbolism of hope

The release of Jesus Menendez symbolizes hope for the oppressed and wrongly accused. Menendez is a victim of the corrupt legal system because he is jailed for a crime he never committed. However, Menendez is lucky when he gets justice, and the prison sets him free to enjoy his freedom. Consequently, the author encourages those seeking justice never to give up.
