Map Reading in Middle-earth

Objective:

Familiarize students with the geography of Middle-earth

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.7

Structure:

Ask students to turn to the map that should be at the beginning of their copy of The Hobbit. Be sure to have print-outs of the map on hand, in case any students have an edition without the map included. You may also want to display it on a SmartBoard, if one is available to you.
