The Female Persuasion is a New York Times best-selling novel by Meg Wolitzer. The book, originally published in April 2018, follows the stories of Greer Kadetsky and Faith Frank. Frank, a woman of sixty-three years and an elegant orator, captures Kadeysky's attention at a presentation. Greer, who is in love with her boyfriend Cory, is a new student in college, and isn't exactly sure where life will lead her. With the help of Faith, Greer finds her "internal light" that will lead her through anything and make her truly a happy person.

Meg Wolitzer is an American author known for numerous publications, such as The Uncoupling and The Interestings. Wolitzer was born in 1959, and writes mostly literary fiction. Wolitzer studied creative writing at Smith College, and currently works as an instructor at Stony Brook Southampton.
