Amsterdam and Indianapolis

Objective:
Students will be able to understand the importance of the novel's two cities

Structure:
Have students create two maps—one of Indianapolis and one of Amsterdam—that capture the following:
-important places from the story (Funky Bones, the hospital, Support Group, etc. for Indianapolis; Anne Frank Huis, Oranjee, Van Houten's apartment for Amsterdam)
-the similarities and differences between the two cities (their canals are similar; their typical modes of transit are different)
-some aspect of each city's history
