The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse Summary

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse is a kids' graphic novel containing pictures that tell a narrative of love, acquaintance and acceptance. The four unique protagonists in the novel are the boy, a horse, a mole and a fox. These four friends share a lot, and their objective is to support each other. The novel commences with the mole and boy knowing each other. The boy acknowledges that he is a significant friend despite the mole being minute in size. The boy asks the mole to help him trace his home, and he quickly agrees. According to the mole, the boy has no reason to worry because all shall be well.

When the mole and the boy traverse the wildness, they encounter a trapped fox. The fox looks hungry, and he shows interest in eating the mole. Despite the danger of being eaten, the mole feels compassionate and eats the wire that traps the fox to set him free. When the fox discovers he has been freed, he thanks the mole and becomes a good friend. While in the wildness, the three friends find the horse, who gladly accepts to be part of their search. The boy rides the horse, but he accidentally falls and starts crying. The horse comforts the boy and tells him he is strong.

The horse reveals to the four friends that he once could fly. The boy looks at the horse's back and confirms he is growing wings. The boy assures the horse that despite his inability to fly, they value him as one of their trusted friends. As the boy rides on the horse, the four friends encounter an unexpected storm. The horse assures the rest of the friends that the storm will pass, but their friendship will last forever. The novel ends without the boy tracing his home, but he appreciates his friends because they are the greatest gift in his life.
