Dr Amin Jaafari

The protagonist of the novel, Amin is a respected Arab-Israeli surgeon dedicated to his profession. Sihem Jaafari

Ezra Benhaim

Ezra is a close friend and colleague of the protagonist, Dr. Amin Jaafari. He is also a fellow surgeon who works alongside Amin in Tel Aviv. The relationship between Amin and Ezra is an important element of the novel, as Ezra becomes a source of support and comfort for Amin as he grapples with the shocking revelation about his wife's involvement in a suicide bombing.

Dr Kim Yehuda

Kim studied medicine and works with Amin. The two had a romantic relationship for a time before Amin met Sihem. Kim plays a significant role in helping Amin uncover the truth about Sihem's involvement in the attack.

Captain Moshe

Captain Moshe is Navid's boss who also interrogates Amin regarding his wife. In many ways, he is the antagonist of the novel.

Rania

Rania is Amin's foster sister. She fears imprisonment as a result of Amin's visit due to his connection to the attack.

Adel

Adel is Dr. Amin Jaafari's best friend and a fellow Arab-Israeli. He is a successful lawyer and a close confidant of Amin. Adel is portrayed as a compassionate and supportive friend who stands by Amin as he grapples with the shocking revelation about his wife's involvement in a suicide bombing.

Jamil

Jamil is a minor character who appears briefly in the story. Jamil is a Palestinian teenager who plays a significant role in the narrative as he is linked to the events surrounding the suicide bombing carried out by Dr. Amin Jaafari's wife, Sihem.

Colonel Khadra

A military officer who works closely with Amin as they investigate the suicide bombing. Colonel Khadra is a friend and mentor to Amin, and his character adds depth to the novel's examination of identity and loyalty.
