Fasces

A bundle of wooden rods that contained an axe within. In ancient Rome, they were considered symbols of magisterial and priestly authority. They were part of administrative and religious ceremonies and public processions.

Obsequious

Servile, unctuous, Subservient (Adjective).

Annihilation

Complete Destruction, Obliteration (Noun).

Legion

A large unit of the Roman army, typically consisting of five thousand or ten cohorts of soldiers.

Ovation

A victorious commander’s processional entrance into Rome.

Recrimination

Counter-argument, Counter-Accusation (Noun).

Antipathy

Hostility, Antagonism, Animosity (Noun).

Animosity
