Gastric ulcers are generally caused when stomach acid damages the lining of digestive tract. It can be treated by reducing the secretion of gastric acids. The secretion of these acids is stimulated by histamine. Hence H2 antihistamines are suggested for gastric ulcers. They block the action of histamine at H2 receptors causing decrease in the gastric acid production.
