Marco is a journalist who plans to write an article on Lydia Gozalez, a famous female matador. He goes to meet her in a bar and they leave for her house. Soon, Marco informs her that he doesn’t exactly know much about bullfighting and reveals his identity. An unfortunate event takes a turn and a relationship is formed between the two and they become lovers.
Lydia wishes to tell Marco something at a wedding but due to an accident, she becomes comatose. While he is told that this is the end for Lydia, he still has hopes.
Marco and Benigno , a nurse, come across each other, and very soon Benigno advices Marco to keep talking to Lydia as she would be responsive despite being in a coma. Marco also finds out that Lydia was about to leave him just before the accident, and he feels alone.
Marco leaves Spain and after a while finds out about the death of Lydia. When Marco attempts to contact Benigno, he finds out that Benigno has been convicted of the rape of the woman who was under his care (Alicia). While Alicia has a sudden recovery, Benigno chooses to slip into a coma, and as a result of an overdose, ends up dying.
In a strange twist, Marco and Alicia come across each other.
