"One thing I respect is other people's phobias."
Marco says this to Lydia after killing a snake for her in her home. His statement tells us that he has experienced deep phobias of his own that he must deal with every day so, for someone else to have them is nothing to apologize for as he understands entirely.
"You must have a problem if you're coming to see a psychiatrist."
Alicia's father says this to Benigno who has come to him for an appointment. He asks him what he believes his problem is and Benigno says he doesn't have one. Benigno has no reason to be there other than to see Alicia but he cannot tell this to her father. This statement also foreshadows the face that Benigno does have issues that he clearly does not understand he has.
"Me. A lot. I lived 20 years day and night with one and 4 years with this one."
Marco asks Benigno if he's ever been with a woman to know anything about them. Instead of telling him he is a virgin he replies that he's been with his mother and Alicia.
