Storm Front (The Dresden Files Book 1)

Storm Front (The Dresden Files Book 1) Analysis

Storm Front is a fantasy novel written by Jim Butcher and was published in 2000. The novel follows the magician, Harry Dresden, as he goes on a mission to undercover a new drug mule.

The main theme is one that revolves around good vs evil. Though he is a magician, Dresden does not abuse his powers but instead uses it to do good. But his abilities make him suspicious to the general public, which means he gets blamed for the murders that are happening from taking the new drug. Dresden sets out to prove his innocence and uncover who the real villain is.

It is interesting to see that reputable businessman, Victor, is the true villain and seeks to use magic for his own profit. Unlike Dresden, who upholds a code of honor and refuses to break the laws of the White Council, Victor has no such honor. It is evident that it is the unexpected people who end up being the most honest and courageous.
