Section III
Section III begins with Hsu describing his early days at Berkeley. He starts out identifying himself as straight-edge, though it has more to do with the image than the actual straight-edge philosophy or lifestyle. In his first year, Hsu shares a dorm room with two friends from high school, Dave and Paraag, both of whom major in business and enjoy playing basketball. Hsu reveals that he judges his classmates based on their musical sensibilities, taste in films, and fashion. Based on these criteria, he determines who is cool and who isn’t.
