Students will research Michigan's geography and plot the Symphony's trip south from St. Deborah by the Water

Structure:

The Symphony’s storyline takes place in what used to be the state of Michigan. While some of the locations are fictional, the novel also mentions real towns. In this assignment, students will plot an approximate route the Traveling Symphony takes. Depending on time and teacher preference, students can do this work individually, in partners, or in small groups.
