Star Wars: The Force Awakens Irony

Father and Son

Han Solo nears his son Ben in order to stop his destruction, and is able to get close enough to hold his son. Ironically, Kylo Ren pierces his father's heart with his lightsaber and kills him.

Stormtrooper

Finn is able to escape the battlefield on Jakku, and he believes he is in the clear and can get as far away from the First Order as possible. Ironically, he meets Rey and eventually joins a crew that wants to head straight into fight the First Order, exactly where Finn did not want to go.

Battle

Kylo Ren and Rey face off at the end of the film, and Ren is far more trained in the force than Rey. Ironically Rey is able to wound Ren and defeat him before they are split apart.

BB-8

BB-8 has retrieved a valuable map that holds the location to where Luke Skywalker is. Ironically, the map is only a portion of a larger map and thus is incomplete by itself.

First Order

Poe has been captured by the First Order and it appears that he will be tortured to death by Kylo Ren. Ironically, Stormtrooper FN-2187 who is with the First Order releases Poe in hopes of getting him to fly him out of the way of harm.
