Romancing Mister Bridgerton

Romancing Mister Bridgerton Analysis

Romancing Mister Bridgerton is a historical romance novel written by Julia Quinn and is the third in her Bridgerton Series. The book was published by Avon on 1 July 2002.

The main theme throughout the book is that of identity. Colin is a wealthy and well-respected man, who has travelled the world widely. On the surface, his achievements surpass those of the other members of his family. And yet, when it comes to it, he feels as though he does not still know who he is. He longs for something more and thinks he has found this in his writing career.

On the other hand, Penelope had previously struggled with her identity of being a social outcast, but over the years she has come to terms with it. In fact, she is comfortable with her status as a social pariah and prefers it to the company of the superficial ton. Moreover, she finds solace through her secret identity as Lady Whistledown, which provides her the opportunity to be her true self.
