    Women in the Arab World

    Kind of Activity:

    Classwide Discussion

    Objective:

    Students will be able to better understand the lives of women in the Arab World and how it is similar and different to the lives of women in the United States.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.1.C

    Structure:

    To start, split students into small groups (groups of 3 or 4) and instruct them to make a 1-2 sentence statement that describes life for women in Iran after the Revolution. Then, they should, as a group, make a bulleted list of examples from the book that support their statement. Each example should have a corresponding page number.
