    The Women of Reading Lolita in Tehran

    Kind of Activity:

    Group Work

    Objective:

    Students will be able to describe the main characters in the book and make connections between the characters and Lolita

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.2, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.1

    Structure:

    In this activity, students will work in groups to analyze the characters in the memoir. Specifically, students will analyze: Azar, Manna, Mahshid, Yassi, Azin, Nassrin, and Sanaz. Start by splitting the class into small groups of three or four. Assign each group two (or three) characters, depending on how many groups there are and how long you would like the activity to last.
