Structure:

In this activity, students will place themselves in Janice's shoes and write a diary entry from her first-person point of view.

When Rabbit abandons his family and moves in with Ruth, Janice is scarcely heard of again until she goes into labor. We are briefly given a recount of her actions on the night Rabbit left, and we learn how she is doing from Eccles' perspective the first time he and Rabbit go golfing, but that is basically it.
