Students will be writing an autobiographical poem to debunk stereotypes they face
Structure:
Discrimination is a major theme in the novel, with Harri both enduring and perpetuating prejudice. He absorbs negative stereotypes, which he both repeats and questions. For example, Harri realizes that his Somali classmate couldn't be a pirate because he is afraid of the water. In another instance, Harri sees how beautiful the Islamic prayer is and concludes the girl couldn't possibly be praying for bombs.
