Satrapi is an engaging, powerful narrative that is as interesting as a coming-of-age story for Marjane Satrapi as it is a unique window into the life of a typical Iranian in the modern age. Teachers should be advised that it contains some sexual content as well as expletives in Persepolis II: Story of a Return, and disturbing portrayals and accounts of violence and sexual violence. Its designation as a Grade 11-12 book reflects this.
