    Margaret as a Public Spectacle

    Kind of Activity:

    Individual Writing

    Objective:

    Students will be able to understand the repercussions of Margaret’s actions during the riot and compare cultural conditions of Margaret’s Victorian England with their own context

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.7

    Structure:

    In the riot scene, Margaret becomes a public spectacle, viewed by the eyes of hundreds of men. This act, which is unconventional and inappropriate for a middle-class lady, has many repercussions on her life.
