Mother
Mother is Him’s wife. She rebuilt their home after it burned down; indeed, she does not welcome the strange people that come into her home and destroy it. It gets to the point where she no longer can take this mutilation after her son is killed, and she destroys her home and everyone in it.
Him
Him is a poet, and a metaphor for God. He welcomes Man and Woman into his home, and to all the people that come to see him he opens his home, even though they destroy it.
Man
Man is a doctor who is dying and comes to Him’s Home to meet him before his death. His sons arrive at the Home and the eldest kills the youngest.
Woman
Woman is married to Man. She has no common courtesy nor respect for Mother and her home. Indeed, she believes that she is the only one who knows the feeling of losing a child.
Oldest Son
Oldest Son has come to the home to seek out his father, Man, after finding his dad’s will not to his satisfaction. In his rage he kills his younger brother, and eventually wanders in the wilderness apart from his family.
Younger Brother
Younger Brother arrives at Him’s Home to see his father, in order to tell him of his older brother’s rage after reading the will that his father wrote. Younger brother gets into a fight with his brother and is eventually killed by him. His blood causes the wood and concrete in the home to melt away.
