    In Act III, Scene 2, Helena gets what she claims she has always wanted—Demetrius declares his love for her. Why do you think she reacts as she does?

    Students should consider the roles that Lysander and Hermia play in this question: if Demetrius had been the one to suddenly declare his love before Lysander did, as Oberon had planned, would Helena have believed and accepted him? If Hermia had not been present or involved? Helena's dream has come true, but it's come with such strange additions that she's unable or unwilling to trust it. Is she right? If so, why?
