Rule, Britannia

Objective:

Students will analyze the primary source and colonial song, "Rule, Britannia," as a way to better understand the perspective of British colonials. Moreover, students will interrogate how such a song might impact the colonized.

Structure:

This lesson builds upon the homework assignment from Day 3.

1. Have students read "Rule, Britannia!" aloud in class popcorn style. Also consider playing a performance of the song. 10 minutes
